Most of the cartoony characters I've come up with stem from a small series of sketches I did as birthday gifts for my immediate family. This painting came about after I noticed that in many of those sketches, there was at least one intoxicated version of that character. So, it was just a matter of gathering all my inebriated characters together for a good ol' time at the bar. The barkeep is from the sketch I did for my sister. I especially wanted her character to be the bartender since she was, at one time, learning to mix drinks at home and I was her unfortunate guinea pig.
